About Us

This research group was formed to study the development of oral health throughout the life course. We are internationally unique by leverage research expertise from different backgrounds, working with data on cell, patient and population level.

Our aim is to identify environmental, lifestyle and personal factors related to oral and craniofacial health in order to develop effective strategies to improve oral health.

Collaborations

Our group is part of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Orthodontics department.

Research is in part embedded in The Generation R Study. In collaboration with Erasmus MC and third parties, the study is researching factors influencing health, growth and development of children and their mothers from early pregnancy until young adulthood.

We frequently collaborate with Departments of Public Health and Internal Medicine of Erasmus MC.

Our external partners are Dentaid Research Center, TU Delft, Gemeente Rotterdam, Stichting “De Verre Bergen” and Hogeschool Arnhem Nijmegen.
